2005 Redstone Labor Day Weekend Trip
9/2/2005 - 9/5/2005
We don’t need no stink’n hut when we have Colorado’s most luxurious Forest Service campground. At the “Redstone Hilton,” gravelled tent pads and bathrooms with hot showers will greet dirty, tired bikers and hikers after a day of adventure with some of the state’s most picturesque icons. Bikers can test their skill and insurance among dozens of rides ranging from lazy, scenic cruises to twisted, bone-bruising singletrack epics. Hikers will delight at the endless miles of pristine wilderness trails to trample. Just a mile from camp lie the underappreciated, natural, and clothing-optional Penny Hot Springs, where visitors may soak away old troubles and perhaps pick up some new ones. The bargain price of $20 per person covers camping fees for three nights at the Redstone Campground and the Sunday group dinner.
