Winter Park Resort
Winter Park Resort, though owned by the city of Denver, is operated by the same folks who run the Whistler ski area in British Columbia, and they are gradually upgrading the trails and adding stunt features to the ski terrain. The object is to make Winter Park one of the premier Colorado destinations for downhill bikers. For the most part, though, the ski mountain still belongs to cross country bikers. Upper and lower Roof of the Rockies, the Long Trail, upper and lower Arapahoe and Mountain Goat (the only black diamond bike trail in the area) are as much fun to ride as ever, especially since they are served by chairlift.
Just west of Hwy 40.
