Tall Pines Trail
A classic cross-country, over-hill-and-down-dale route from Carbondale to Redstone. The surface goes from graded road through smooth double track to rough single track, with a short paved descent at the end. This is a disastrous route to attempt when it’s muddy; 4-wheel drive truck with chains can’t get safely through the first section, and the final single-track descent can be a quagmire. This ride ends conveniently at the Redstone campground after a short stretch on paved roads.
