Jenny Creek to Tennessee Mountain Trail
This 11-mile downhiller's delight takes a bit of work to set up the shuttles, but the  3000' of descent may make it a worthwhile chore.  After first leaving a vehicle on the Peak-to-Peak Highway by Magnolia Road near Nederland, riders shuttle up to the top of East Rollins Pass Road.  Beginning at Yankee Doodle Lake, the trail drops down for 4 miles along Jenny Creek under dense forest cover.  The trail briefly climbs out of the creek drainage for 2 miles to a saddle just by Tennessee Mountain.  Then it's all downhill from here.  The next 5 miles drops down across the side of Tennessee Mountain, past the University of Colorado's Observatory, and back to the drop-off cars.  This is an especially great ride on hot days as almost the entire ride is wooded and the section by Jenny Creek offers many opportunities to get very wet.  Be advised that due to the starting altitude of this ride, snow may be encountered on the the trail well into August. East of Yankee Doodle Lake.
