Governor Basin Jeep Roads
This network of jeep and singletrack trails off from the Ouray side of the Imogene Pass Road is a heavenly feast for the eyes.  The straight forward route from the road to Humbolt Mine at the base of Saint Sophia Ridge measures just under 4 miles but climbs over 2200' due to the jagged topography of the whole area.  So don't expect to ride much on this trail.  Do expect some of the most dramatic views to be found in all of Colorado: precarious shelf roads, colorful fields of wildflowers, sheer cliffs, picturesque mine buildings, and the unique craggy tops of the Saint Sophia Ridge. Start of 4x4 road into Governor Basin.
