Rabbit Ears Pass to Steamboat Springs
"The Monarch Crest of the North," this shuttled 29-mile ride is an original club favorite. Starting at Dumont Lake near Rabbit Ears Pass, the trail runs along the Continental Divide for nearly 18 miles before dropping down 3000' on forest roads from Buffalo Pass back into the town of Steamboat Springs. While grand vistas are generally lacking, the route's many alpine lakes and lush meadows offer pristine sceneries to match any other in the state.
Park in the dirt lot north of Hwy 40, by Dumont Lake exit, 1.3 miles west of Rabbit Ears Pass.
